What is HiFu Facelift?

A HIFU facelift is basically a non-surgical facelift/noninvasive facial tightening skin treatment. A HIFU facial can be a great way to slow down the natural aging process, and it’s an ideal treatment for skin tightening. It is an advanced cosmetic technology which can significantly tighten and lift several areas of the face, reduce the signs of ageing and improve the tone of the skin in a single session, with potentially long-lasting effects*. This focused ultrasound treatment facial is better than a surgical facelift. HIFU is great in treating facial wrinkles and boosting the levels of collagen in the skin. It’s also better than a surgical facelift because surgical facelifts are painful and costly. HIFU treatment is painless, the cost is much lower than a surgical facelift, and there’s no downtime!

What is the difference between HIFU and Ultherapy?

Many people think that Hifu and Ultherapy are the same treatment. Ultherapy is similar to Hifu, but with the added benefit of real-time imaging. Additionally, while the treatments both use ultrasound to activate natural skin rejuvenation, they use different types of ultrasound beams. Aesthetic medicine involves the use of two types of ultrasounds:

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU): used mainly for medical purposes
Micro-focused ultrasound (MFU): utilizes highly focused energy to target a specific skin layer

The Ultrasound is slightly different, one uses Micro Focused, the other uses High Intensity Focused waves. What does that mean for you? Not a lot really.

The main difference is that Ultherapy can ‘see’ the layers of the skin using the handpiece, whereas in HIFU you can’t see ‘inside’ the skin.

If you have particularly thin skin, or a lot of facial fat, then sending the wave 4.5mm down may not hit the SMAS layer. With Ultherapy you will know this but with HIFU you won’t. In theory Ultherapy should produce a more effective, guaranteed result. This leads to the next major difference – the price – see below!

In both cases though – only clients who are suitable should undergo this treatment. Anyone with particularly thin, poor-quality skin will not be right for either.

How long does it take to see the result?

When looking at skin tightening, so using only a single layer macro-energy you only need one single treatment to feel skin tightening result. And the result is instant – so look in the mirror and see a change. This will improve over the next 2- 4 week

It’s the HIFU Face lift treatment where there is an initial plump and feeling of tightness, but the lift takes time.

The deep micro-energy layer into the dermis contracts the SMAS layer and causes the inflammatory response.

You have to wait for your immune system to react and produce fibroblast which will harvest the collagen and elastin production.

This can take from 3 months to 6 months to come to the surface of the skin.

However, during that period you will feel a firmness from the mid-layer of collagen and elastin at 4 to 6 weeks, but the structured feeling of firmness takes a little longer than you want to believe.

With my skin rejuvenation clients when they first have the HIFU Face Lift treatment it is always at the 6 months point they report back to me they can really notice a difference.

How long do the results last?

Starting with the instant skin tightening it takes as long as it takes for your skin to age and breakdown the collagen that was created due to the collagen stimulation.

Now I am sorry that is a bit of a politicians answer, but it the best way I can honestly explain what happens.

If you are under 30 your collagen does not breakdown as quickly as it does for when we are 40 or 50 or 60 years + years old.

We all know that as we age our collagen breakdowns at 1% per year and starts to gather speed if it does not have all the ingredients and stimulation it needs to keep regenerating.

But take a moment to have a think about a 50-year-old who’s skin health is 9 out of ten, they are hydrated, a good diet, don’t smoke, don’t go outdoors in the sun and have regular aesthetic skin treatments?

How quickly is her collagen going to decrease?

Probably about the same speed as the 30 years!

In general, the answer to the question of how long the result last for instant HIFU skin tightening I would say between 4 and 6 weeks. to this item.

How many treatments will I need?

This will depend on your needs and expectations. The procedure can produce long-lasting results, but some people may benefit from a top-up treatment. However, most of our clients see effective results from only one treatment.

Are there any side effects?

This is a common HIFU FAQ. You may experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treatment area immediately after the procedure. However, this will normally fade within a few days.
